Geometric Optics

Opika geometry is the study of the phenomenon of light propagation. In this chapter we study the laws of reflection and refraction for shadow formation by mirrors and lenses.

Light

The sense of sight is very important for us, because it gives the most information about the world. This is not because the light that enters our eyes. How does the behavior of light
so we could see everything we do? We see objects
one of two ways:

Purpose:
Proving that light propagates straight

Tools and Materials:
Three cardboard measuring 20 cm x 20 cm, three wooden clamp with a length of 20 cm, a light bulb, a thread, a single nail was, hammers, boards, or table.

Work steps:
1. Punch a hole right in the center third carton using a nail and hammer, then third-flops carton with wooden tongs, so that each carton can stand upright on the table
2. Put three cartons are lined with a certain distance on the table. Make three holes in the cardboard that is in line. You do this by passing the thread through the three holes in the cardboard center and pull the thread until taut
3. Without moving the cardboard, gently pull the string out. Then put a light bulb shining on the front of the screen and look at the first carton incandescent bulbs by placing your eye to the hole in the cardboard into three. Can you see the light bulb?
4. Now slide the cardboard screen into two slightly to the right Can your eyes see the light bulb?
5. By considering the results of observations in step 3 and 4, are your conclusions?
